Narcissistic Traits 33- Compulsive Liar

Some of the top traits of a narcissist include compulsive lying, self-centered, sense of entitlement or superiority, lack of empathy, manipulating or controlling, strong need for admiration, difficulty taking feedback or responsibility, and easily wounded. My abuser had every single one of these traits. He also had a lot more horrible traits that I can't even explain them all.

My abuser was the biggest liar known to earth. I couldn’t believe anything that came out of his mouth. As sad as it is, I now know that my entire relationship was a lie. Since leaving I have heard of multiple other cheating scandals and also some other crazy ass things. I’m not going to share some of those things though because they did not happen while dating me.

After leaving Dick, I ended up hearing another story he made up. Someone I know was at the animal shelter when my abuser went in to adopt a dog. He was going to adopt a dog, but his dog wasn’t vaccinated, so he couldn’t. This individual overheard him say that his dog actually was vaccinated. His ex-girlfriend took the dog to get vaccinated while he was on vacation and she was withholding the paperwork from him. I was shocked. I never once took his dog anywhere. The dog never got vaccinated and when he and I went on vacation to Colorado, my mom went to his house every day to take care of his dog. He also told my mom that he wanted her to tell his mom to leave if she had shown back up at his house. I was completely disgusted. This individual who overheard him also heard him tell the animal shelter that he owned his own house and when they found out he didn’t he told them that it was his aunts, so it was ok to have another dog. I was just shocked at the complete mess of a story he told them and not only that, he and I were still together at the time he made this story up!

My abuser would also constantly smell like cigarettes. He told me it was the coffee he drank, who knows if that was the truth or just another lie too. He also made up endless amount of lies up about his ex-girlfriend and ex-wife. The sad part is I actually know people that believed the lies he made up about them. I could go on for day about the lies he told because like I said, my entire relationship was a lie! I couldn’t believe anything that came out of his mouth!

Another major thing he lied about was the use of steroids that I mentioned earlier. When I confronted him he told me they were just a type of medicine that the doctor told him to use for his headaches. I knew it was a lie. He told me that he used a plunger top and took it underneath his tongue. That was another lie. I saw the bottle of steroids in a picture and even had him send me a close up of the bottle. Without a doubt the bottle could only be used with a needle and a doctor would not prescribe someone illegal steroids. Also, it is said that steroids are to cause headaches. He ended up telling me the truth about 2 weeks later when I wouldn’t come back to him. He thought if he told me the truth that I would come back and we could fix everything. We did stay together, but the trust issues were still there.

He lied about everything, but I didn’t find out a lot of the lies until after leaving him. A lot of them also had to do with his family. A lot of lies I also caught him in while dating, but he would freak out if I accused him of anything. Like I said, I believe nothing that comes out of that boy’s mouth!
