He was extremely self-centered, which anyone can see, but even more so behind closed doors. Everything had to be about him and if it wasn’t he would turn it into being about him or he would have a rage. You can tell from some of the experiences I stated above. Never once did my ex ask me anything about my past, nothing! The only reason he knew my grandma was kidnapped and that I have dyslexia was because I told him. My abuser constantly informed me how he was the absolute greatest at everything he did. He was the greatest motorcycle racer. His brother is good, but if he would have stuck with it he would have been better. Supposedly, his dad wouldn’t let him ride anymore because he only had enough money for 1 of his sons to ride and he wasn’t liked. He also informed me that his dad wouldn’t even let him eat a steak dinner because there was only enough for his brother and he needed it to get strong for racing. Anyways, he was also the greatest at downhill skiing, building motorcycle suspensions, skateboarding, being a salesman, oh and doing drugs. He was the greatest at everything and if he stuck with these things no one would have outdone him. Ok, Mr. Arrogant! As for holidays, every single holiday or special occasion was ruined. The attention wasn’t directed at him, so there was no reason for anyone else to have a good day. Hence the reason Dick never bought me a gift until our last Christmas where he was just angry about it and had a fit about Christmas. He also didn’t even listen to what his son had to say. He’d pretend like he was concerned about him, but he really wasn’t. All he cared about what money, how to make more of it, and how he could get people to believe he was really great.
